Alexey Torgunakov

Alexey Torgunakov was born in 1985 in a small town of Moscow region and like all ambitious people, at young age he decided to realize his talents in the capital. In 2004 he made the first bold steps on the "ballet stairs”, becoming the graduate of the Moscow Choreographic Academy. At the same time Alexey was hired in Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.
In 2007 the artist was awarded international recognition: he became the laureate of contest «International Dance Competition Hellas» (Athens, Greece).
Alexey as a real ballet dancer is faithful to the classical dance, but at the same time he is open to everything new in the art:
2008 - 2009 - participation in modern dance projects of Natalia Shirokova “Three lecture” and “Open doors”
2010 - Alexey became one of the elected members of the joint project of the Bolshoi Theatre and the French choreographer Angelin Preljoсaj. The result of joint work was the ballet “And then, one thousand years of peace. Creation 2010”, within the framework of the year of French Culture in Russia and Russia in France. The world premiere of the ballet took place on the stage of Bolshoi Theater, after which the performance went on tour around the main European capitals.
Beside the dance Alexey is also fond of others embodiment of plasticity the body, that’s why he takes part in photo-video experiments by different artists with a great pleasure.

Less
