Anthony Spaulding

Anthony Spaulding was born in Pheonix, Arizona, and trained at Arizona Ballet School and San Francisco Ballet School prior to becoming an apprentice in 2004. He joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet in 2006, and was promoted to soloist in 2008. He has performed lead roles in a variety of works, including Snow King, Arabian, and Spanish in Tomasson’s Nutcracker; Von Rothbart, Spanish, Mazurka, and Aristocrat in Tomasson’s Swan Lake; Cavalier in Tomasson’s The Sleeping Beauty; and Toreador in Tomasson/Possokhov’s Don Quixote. His repertory also includes lead roles in Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, van Manen’s Two Pieces for Het (for Rachel), McGregor’s Eden/Eden, Possokhov’s Diving into the Lilacs, Taylor’s Changes and Spring Rounds, and Welch’s Naked. In addition, Spaulding created a role in Caniparoli’s Ibsen’s House.
