Bethany was born in Camberley, Surrey. She trained with Arden Holford and at The Royal Ballet School. At the School’s 2000 performance she danced the Pas de deux in A Time to Dance. She joined The Royal Ballet in 2000 and was promoted to First Artist in September 2003.
Her repertory with the Company includes Peter Wright’s production of Giselle, Clara in his production of The Nutcracker, Fokine’s The Firebird, Natalia Makarova’s La Bayadère, the Fairy of Generosity, Cinderella and the White Cat in The Sleeping Beauty, Rudolf Nureyev’s Don Quixote, John Cranko’s Onegin, Mark Morris’s Gong, Frederick Ashton’s Scènes de ballet, Spring Fairy Cinderella and as Dora Penny in Enigma Variations, Princess Stephanie in Kenneth MacMillan’s Mayerling, the Fifth Sister in My Brother, My Sisters, Zulme in Peter Wright’s production of Giselle, Jiří Kylián’s Sinfonietta, Christopher Wheeldon’s Polyphonia and Effie and one of the Two Sylphs in Johan Kobborg’s production of August Bournonville’s La Sylphide.
She has created roles in Alastair Marriott’s Grey Gardens and Tom Sapsford’s tic(k) for the Artists’ Development Initiative in the Clore Studio Upstairs, Les Bleuets in David Bintley’s
Les Saisons, the lead in Alastair Marriott’s Being and Having Been (Linbury 2004) and a role in Tanglewood (2005).
During the 2007/2008 Season she made her debut as Hunca Munca in Ashton’s Tales of Beatrix Potter.
