Bridgett Zehr trained with the Sarasota Ballet’s Dance – The Next Generation programme, The Harid Conservatory in Florida and Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy. Ms. Zehr joined the company from Houston Ballet in 2006 and was promoted to Principal Dancer in 2009. In 2011, Ms. Zehr joined the English National Ballet and will remain as a guest artist with the National Ballet of Canada

With The National Ballet of Canada, Ms. Zehr has danced the title roles in Sir Peter Wright’s Giselle and the North American premiere of Davide Bombana’s Carmen. She performed lead roles in the world premieres of Peter Quanz’s IN COLOUR and Crystal Pite’s Emergence and in the company premieres of Jerome Robbins’ Glass Pieces and Christopher Wheeldon’s Polyphonia. She also created the female role in Christopher Wheeldon’s Prokofiev Pas de Deux.

Ms. Zehr has also danced in the world premieres of Sabrina Matthews’ clearing and in featured roles in the company premieres of Eliot Feld’s A Footstep of Air and Suzanne Farrell’s restaging of Balanchine’s Don Quixote. She has also performed The Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker and lead roles in The Sleeping Beauty and Voluntaries.

In 2002, while an Apprentice with Houston Ballet, Ms. Zehr was a finalist in the Shanghai International Ballet Competition. She has recently performed at the Youth America Grand Prix Gala in New York City and the International Ballet Star Gala in Taipei.
