Hi. I am Cecilia Iliesiu, a born-and-raised New Yorker. I started my dance training at the age of three – basically skipping around the studio. Then from the ages of eight to eighteen I trained at the School of American Ballet (SAB) and formally-known Studio Maestro. Now I am fortunate enough to be dancing professionally with Carolina Ballet in Raleigh, NC performing about 80 shows a season (fantastic!).
I have been asked numerous times why I dance. My answer is because I never want to stop learning about the limits of the craft and my body. It is amazing what your body can do. Every day in the studio is a blessing and I wouldn’t rather be anywhere else.
