David Nava was born in McAllen, Texas where he has trained with Teachers Richard d'Alton and Jill d'Alton since 2004. David has won several first prizes at the Youth America Grand Prix Semi-Finals. In March 2008 David represented the USA in the 5th Rudolf Nureyev Ballet Competition in Budapest, Hungary and he was invited to compete in the 23rd International Ballet Competition in Varna, Bulgaria. He was also invited to compete at the 2009 Helsinki International Ballet Competition in Helsinki, Finland. He has performed numerous classical roles and Pas de Deux including Le Corsaire, Carnival in Venice, Harlequinade, Cavalier in The Nutcracker, and Bournonville's La Ventana Pas de Trois.
He is currently employed with the Sarasota Ballet Company in Florida, under the directorship of Iain Webb. David joined Sarasota Ballet in 2008.
