Elisa Carrillo Cabrera began her training at the National School of Classical Dance in Mexico, and upon graduation, continued her studies at the English National Ballet School. She joined Stuttgart Ballet as a member of the corps de ballet in 1999. She was promoted to Demi-Soloist in 2004, and Soloist in 2006. In 2007, she joined Berlin State Opera Ballet as a Soloist. She is a recipient of the Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals from the National Classical Dance Competition in Mexico. Her most recent success was in the title role in Angelin Preljocaj’s “Snow White,” with music by Gustav Mahler and costumes by Jean Paul Gaultier.
In 2010, she became Mexico's first Prima Ballerina and a cultural ambassador.
