Fábio Lopez

Born in Lisbon (Portugal). He studied at the National Conservatory Dance School in Lisbon before attending the Juilliard School in New York and then l'Ecole Atelier Rudra Béjart Lausanne in 2004. He danced the "Rite of Spring", "Boléro" and created "Zarathoustra, le chant de la danse" with the Béjart Ballet Lausanne and he joined Malandain Ballet Biarritz in 2006.
Fabio was mainly trained by Jorge Garcia, Victor Ullate, Azari Plissetski and Michel Gascard. His repertory includes works of Nils Christie, Rui Horta, Benvindo Fonseca, Maurice Béjart, Martha Graham, Vasco Wellenkamp and Thierry Malandain. In June 2010 he created "Petrushka", his first choreography for the "Centre de Formation en Danse de Biarritz", which had a very enthusiastic applause.
In 2011 he created "Lusitanas" for the same school which was presented at the Festival Temps D'aimer la Danse 2011 and "INÊS", a duet for two dancers of the Malandain Ballet Biarritz.
For the moment he's working on a creation for April 2012 based on West Side Story's music.
