Francisco Estevez is currently a corps de ballet member with Corella Ballet in Spain. After moving to the United States from Ecuador, Francisco began his ballet training at the University of Louisville Dance Academy (1996-2002) in Louisville, Kentucky, and at the Louisville Ballet School (2003-2005). In 2005 he was invited to continue his training at the School of American Ballet in New York where he graduated in 2008. He has also trained at the Miami City Ballet and Stiefel and Stars. Among others, Francisco has studied with Jock Soto, Peter Martins, Edward Villella, Rolando Sarabia Sr., Ethan Stiefel, Johnny Eliasen, John Garner, and Amanda McKerrow. In 2008, after taking a leave of absence from Harvard University where he was a freshman, he joined Boston Ballet’s second company under the direction of Mikko Nissinen.
Francisco has performed a diverse repertoire from which his featured roles include George Balanchine’s 1st and 2nd Themes from The Four Temperaments; Balanchine’s Tarantella; Jorma Elo’s Carmen Illusions and Pointeoff, the Peasant Pas de Deux from Giselle; Jewels from Sleeping Beauty; and the Pas de Six from Napoli, among others. Francisco has also performed with the New York City Ballet where some of his featured and solo engagements included Peter Martin’s Les Gentilhommes, in 2007, and Jerome Robbins’s 2 & 3 Part Inventions in 2008.
