Glenn Keenan was born in New York, New York, and began her ballet training at the age of eight at the School of American Ballet (SAB), the official school of New York City Ballet. As a student, Ms. Keenan performed the role of Elisa in August Bournonville's Konservatoriet, led the First Campaign in George Balanchine's Stars and Stripes, and danced a soloist role in Balanchine's Danses Concertantes for SAB's 2000 Annual Spring Workshop. In June 2000, she became an apprentice with New York City Ballet, and in October 2000 she became a member of the corps de ballet.
