Jessica Saund, formerly a member of English National Ballet, began her dance training with California Ballet and later studied at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, DC on full scholarship. In 1996, she joined the Washington School of Ballet under the direction of Mary Day. That same year, Saund took the Gold Medal in the junior division in the II International Ballet Competition in South America. In 1999, she was invited to study with Le Jeune Ballet de France in Paris.

Saund’s repertoire with English National Ballet included the Fairy Godmother, Winter Fairy and Oriental Princess in Cinderella, Arabian Princess in The Nutcracker, Rosaline in Rudolf Nureyev’s Romeo and Juliet, Big Swans and pas de trois and the Spanish Dance in Swan Lake and leading roles in Raymonda, Paquita and Michael Corder’s Melody on the Move.

Saund joined American Ballet Theatre as a member of the corps de ballet in January 2006. Her repertoire with the Company includes the Countess in The Sleeping Beauty, the Spanish Princess and the Spanish Dance in Swan Lake.
