Julianne Kepley

Born in Atlanta, Julianne Kepley trained at the Atlanta School of Ballet, The School of American Ballet, and Boston Ballet. She danced with Atlanta Ballet and The Joffrey Ballet before joining the San Francisco Ballet as a soloist in 2007. Since joining the Company, she has performed lead roles including the Sugar Plum Fairy and Snow Queen in Tomasson’s Nutcracker, pas de cinq in Tomasson’s Giselle, principal in Balanchine’s Divertimento No. 15, Graziela and featured vocalist in Robbins’ West Side Story Suite, and Robson’s The Energy Between Us. Roles she has danced for other companies include Juliet in Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet; Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother in Ashton’s Cinderella; and Titania in Ashton’s The Dream; Swanhilda in Coppélia; principal roles in Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante, Divertimento No. 15, Serenade, and Square Dance; the pas de deux from Arpino’s Valentine; Kate in Cranko’s The Taming of the Shrew; Nikiya in Petipa’s La Bayadere, Act II; and a principal role in Tharp’s Deuce Coupe. She has also danced in Kylian’s Return to a Strange Land.
