Julio Bragado-Young was born in Cleveland, Ohio. At the age of two he moved to Spain where he began studying ballet at the age of six with Anatol Yanovsky and later with Luis Fuente and Zelman Bustillo. At 15, Bragado-Young moved back to the United States and studied at the North Carolina School of the Arts. Bragado-Young has attended various Summer programs including the Houston Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Boston Ballet and American Ballet Theatre.

Bragado-Young joined ABT’s Studio Company in 1998 and, in August 1999, joined American Ballet Theatre as a member of the corps de ballet. His repertoire with the Company includes a Satyr in Artemis, Gamache and Sancho Panza in Don Quixote, Bottom in The Dream, the Cockerel in La Fille mal gardeé, a leading role in The Garden of Villandry, Wilfred in Giselle, the Profiteer in The Green Table, leading roles in Baker’s Dozen, Petite Mort, Pretty Good Year and Sechs Tänze, a Fairy Knight in The Sleeping Beauty, a Youth in Three Virgins and a Devil, as well as roles in other full-length ballets.
