Katie Boren was born in Dallas, Texas and has studied ballet since the age of three. At age six, she studied at the Ballet Academy of Texas, under the direction of Lisa Slagle and Thomas Nicholson. At age twelve, Katie was chosen from Texas to perform with American Ballet Theatre in George Balanchine's Mozartiana. She competed in the Youth America Grand Prix from 2004-2007 and was awarded a full scholarship to the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre in 2007. Katie studied at the JKO School until 2009. Katie also attended American Ballet Theatre's Summer Intensive since 2004. She has been a National Training Scholar in 2005 and a Bender Foundation Scholar in 2008. In 2007, Katie was awarded the Nadyne Legere scholarship from the Dallas Dance Council and was a youngArts Honorable Mention Award Winner in 2008. Katie performed with ABT II from 2009-2011. She joined Staatsballett Berlin in August of 2011.
