Kelsey Hellebuyck trained at the San Francisco Ballet School from the time she was five years old, studying with Jocelyn Vollmar, Kathleen Mitchell, Gloria Govrin, Pascale Leroy, Shannon Bresnahan and Jorge Esquivel. When she reached the School’s pre-professional level, she received a full merit scholarship. As a student Hellebuyck appeared in San Francisco Ballet productions of The Nutcracker (Clara), Giselle, Romeo & Juliet, The Sleeping Beauty and Don Quixote. For the San Francisco Ballet School’s annual Spring Student Showcase, Hellebuyck performed Bluebird pas de deux, George Balanchine’s Western Symphony (principal, fourth movement) and a leading role in August Bournonville’s Konservatoriet. She joined Boston Ballet in 2006.
Hellebuyck’s Boston Ballet repertoire includes Rudolph Nureyev’s Don Quixote, Mikko Nissinen’s The Nutcracker and Swan Lake, George Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Ballo della Regina, Serenade, Concerto Barocco, La Valse, The Four Temperaments and Jewels, Maina Gielgud’s Giselle, August Bournonville’s La Sylphide, John Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet, Jiri Kylian's Falling angels,and Jorma Elo's Carmen
