Laura was born in Madrid. She studied locally and then at The Royal Ballet School, dancing the Pas de six from Bournonville’s Napoli Act III in the 1994 School’s performance, the lead girl in Valse Fantasie and the Gypsy Girl in Frederick Ashton’s The Two Pigeons in the 1995 School’s performance. She joined the Company in 1995 and was promoted to First Artist in August 1998, Soloist in September 1999, First Soloist in 2002 and Principal in September 2007.

She dances a wide range of corps de ballet roles in the Company’s repertory, as well as featured roles. In the classical repertory she has danced The Sugar Plum Fairy in Peter Wright’s production of The Nutcracker, Effie in Johan Kobborg’s production of August Bournonville’s La Sylphide, the Fairy of the Enchanted Garden, Fairy of the Golden Vine, Silver Fairy and Princess Florine in the Monica Mason and Christopher Newton production of The Sleeping Beauty. She has also danced in Johan Kobborg’s production of Napoli Divertissements, Neapolitan Dance and one of the two Swans in Act Two of Swan Lake, a Lilac Fairy Attendant, one of Aurora’s Friends, a Nymph, Fairy Coulante and the Sapphire Variation in The Sleeping Beauty, the Fourth Variation in Raymonda Act III and a leading Wili and Moyna in Peter Wright’s Giselle.

In the MacMillan repertory she dances Lescaut’s Mistress and the title role in Manon, the Jealous Sister in Las Hermanas, the Third Sister in My Brother, My Sisters, the Mother in Rituals, the First Movement in Concerto, the Pas de quatre in Gloria, Countess Larische and Mitzi Caspar in Mayerling, Tatiana in Anastasia, lead couple and Pas de trois in Danses concertantes, the Second Sister in My Brother, My Sisters and the Principal White Girl in Song of the Earth. Her Ashton roles include the Brown Skater in Les Patineurs, a Squirrel and Jemima Puddleduck in Tales of Beatrix Potter, Monotones I (Trois gnossiennes), a side Neapolitan couple in Ondine, the Pas de trois in Les Rendezvous, the Autumn Fairy in Cinderella, Lykanion in Daphnis and Chloë, Diana in Ashton’s Sylvia, Devil’s Holiday, the centre Neapolitan couple in Ondine, the side couple in Symphonic Variations, Lise in La Fille mal gardée and Scènes de ballet.

She has also danced in David Bintley’s Consort Lessons, the Betrayed Girl in Ninette de Valois’s The Rake’s Progress, the company premieres of Twyla Tharp’s Push Comes to Shove and William Tuckett’s The Magpie’s Tower (1997 Dance Bites Tour), the solo role in Tom Sapsford’s Odalisque (1996 Dance Bites Tour), the First Principal Girl in Ashley Page’s Cheating, Lying, Stealing, Christopher Wheeldon’s ‘A Royal Ballet’ ,Polyphonia and DGV (Danse à grande vitesse), one of the Grey Girls in Nijinska’s Les Biches the side girl in Michael Corder’s Masquerade, Amour in Rudolf Nureyev’s production of Don Quixote, Stephen Baynes’ Beyond Bach, the Lady in Antony Tudor’s The Leaves Are Fading, 1st Solo Shade and Gamzatti in Natalia Makarova’s La Bayadère, the Fairy of Temperament, Cinderella, the Gold Fairy and the Diamond Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, Nacho Duato’s Por Vos Muero, Morris’s Gong, William Forsythe’s In the middle, somewhat elevated, Jiří Kylián’s Sinfonietta, George Balanchine’s Ballet Imperial and Symphony in C, Mikhail Fokine’s Le Spectre de la Rose, Bronislava Nijinska’s Les Noces, Matjash Mrozewski’s A World of Art, Johan Kobborg’s production of Napoli Divertissements, Matjash Mrozewski’s Castle, one of the two Blue Girls in Les Patineurs and Pig-Wig and Jemima Puddle-Duck in Tales of Beatrix Potter.

She has created roles in Twyla Tharp’s first work for the Company, Mr Worldly Wise, Matthew Hart’s Dances with Death, Ashley Page’s Sleeping with Audrey (1996 Dance Bites Tour), Two Part Invention (Part I) and Room of Cooks (1997 Dance Bites Tour), William Tuckett’s works for the 1998 and 1999 Dance Bites Tours: Puirt-a-Beul and Love’s Fool (in which she later danced The Girl), Tuckett’s The Turn of the Screw (Flora) and Mark Baldwin’s Towards Poetry (1999 Dance Bites Tour). In the 2000 season she created roles in Tuckett’s The Crucible (Tituba) and 3:4, the Wife in Matthew Hart’s Acheron’s Dream, Cathy Marston’s Traces (2001), Ashley Page’s This House Will Burn (2001), Christopher Wheeldon’s Tryst (2002) Wayne McGregor’s Qualia (2003), Erico Montes’s Serendipity (First Drafts 2006) and the lead girl in Antony Dowson’s Memento (2005).

Her television appearances include Devil’s Holiday Pas de deux in December 2004.
