Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Nicola Curry began dancing at the age of three in Danville, Pennsylvania. After moving to Colorado Springs, she attended the National Ballet School in Toronto, Canada. While at the National Ballet School, she won the Peter Dwyer Dance Scholarship awarded by the Canadian Council for the Arts. Upon graduating with academic honors in 2004, she was awarded the Erik Bruhn Memorial Award for excellence in ballet and the Patricia Goss Fine Art Award.

Curry has attended many summer programs on scholarship including Pacific Northwest Ballet, Exploring Ballet with Suzanne Farrell and American Ballet Theatre. She was a five-time recipient of American Ballet Theatre’s National Training Scholarship. She has worked with world-renowned choreographers and performers including Jiri Kylian, Arlette van Boven, Tour Van Schayk. John Neumeier, Joysanne Sidimus, Karen Kain, Sergiu Stefanshi and Matajash Mrojewski.

Curry joined the ABT Studio Company (now ABT II) in the Fall of 2004, the main Company as an apprentice in May 2005 and as a member of the corps de ballet in March 2006.

Her repertoire includes the Countess in The Sleeping Beauty, Anna in La Sylphide and roles in Airs, Baker’s Dozen, Ballo della Regina, Company B and One of Three. She created a leading role in Citizen.
