Growing up in southern Maine, Sara trained with the Maine State School for the Performing Arts, and danced with the Maine State Ballet. She has attended summer courses at the School of American Ballet and the Miami City Ballet School. After attending the Miami City Ballet School, she and her identical twin sister were accepted into the company in 2005 as student apprentices. She has continued to dance there and is now a senior corps de ballet member. Sara was also a recipient of the 2006 Princess Grace Award for dance.
