Born in Winter Park, Florida, Sasha De Sola began her training at Central Florida Ballet and continued her training at the Kirov Academy of Ballet on full merit scholarship. At the age of 17, De Sola joined San Francisco Ballet where she has danced featured roles in a variety of ballets. Her repertory includes Zulma and Pas de Cinq in Helgi Tomasson’s Giselle; Acrobat in Tomasson’s Romeo and Juliette; Jesterette and Swanhilda’s friend in Balanchine’s Coppelia; as well as a soloist in Yuri Possokhov’s Classical Symphony. De Sola has also been featured in Forsythe’s Artifact Suite; Tomasson’s Swan Lake, Trio, Nutcracker and Haffner Symphony; Fokine’s Petrouchka; and Balanchine’s Theme and Variations, Serenade, Stravinsky Violin Concerto and Symphony in C, among others. De Sola was also awarded the Best Couple prize at USA International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Mississippi (2006); the silver medal at World Ballet Competition (2008) ; the bronze medal at Varna International Ballet Competition (2006); the bronze medal at Youth America Grand Prix in New York City (2004); and she received a full scholarship to Paris Opera Ballet School (2004), among other honors.
