Shannon Marie Roberts

I am currently a ballerina with the San Francisco Ballet. A native from South Lake Tahoe I trained in the Reno Tahoe area before moving to San Francisco to train with the San Francisco Ballet School on a full merit scholarship in 2002. I Joined the San Francisco Ballet in 2004 at the age of 16. I have worked with world renowned Choreographers including Helgi Tomasson, Paul Taylor, Mark Morris, Christopher Wheeldon, John Nuemeier, William Forsythe, David Bintley, Yuri Possokhov, James Kudelka,Val Caniparoli, and have danced numerous roles in ballets by Agnes De Mille, Jerome Robbins, and George Balanchine. I have danced all over the world including France, Iceland, China, Denmark and of course the US. I Have strong Classical and Balanchine training and am well rounded in Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern, and Character dancing. In 2008, I Performed Anita is West Side Story Suite and received outstanding reviews from critics and praise from Rita Moreno herself. I was nominated for an Isadora Duncan award for best individual performance 2008 for that role.
