Tabitha Rinko-Gay began studying ballet at the age of five at the American Academy of Dance in Houston, Texas. When she was eleven, Ms. Rinko-Gay moved to Pennsylvania and trained at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. In September 2005, Ms. Rinko-Gay began studying at the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet, where she performed lead roles in her workshop performance and won the prestigious Mae L. Wien award. Peter Martins invited her to join the Company as an apprentice shortly thereafter. During her year as an apprentice she attracted attention for her ethereal quality and graceful movement style. Ms. Rinko-Gay become a member of New York City Ballet’s corps de ballet in June 2007. While in the company, her repertoire included works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, and Peter Martins. She also participated in new choreographic works by such choreographers as Benjamin Millepied and Alexei Ratmansky. She was honored to perform the role of "third passer-by" in Robbins' "Fancy Free."

TR: Hi Angela, Great to hear from you! I'm still in the nyc with my family and we are all doing well- my sister is about to head off to Harvard for graduate school and I'm going to college here in the city. Say hello to everyone for us!
