Viktoriya Ananyan

Born: Yerevan, Armenia

A graduate of Russia’s Perm State Theater Ballet School in Perm, Russia, Ananyan began her professional career in 2003 with the Perm Tchaikovsky Ballet and Orchestra, where she quickly rose to the position of soloist. In 2007, she joined the corps de ballet of the Dutch National Ballet and was promoted to second soloist in 2010. She has performed such lead roles as Swanhilde in Coppélia, Nikiya in La Bayadère, Clara in The Nutcracker, Giselle in Giselle, Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella in Cinderella, and Queen of Dryads in Don Quixote. In July 2010, she was a featured dancer in Today’s Stars of the Russian Ballet, a collaborative showcase between the Bolshoi Ballet, Marinsky Ballet, Ukrainian National Ballet, and Ballet Manila that featured the world’s leading Russian ballet dancers—including Ananyan.
