What is known today as the Moscow Stanislavsky Ballet Theatre was created in 1941 as a result of the merger between former Bolshoi ballet star Victorina Krieger's Moscow Art Ballet (part of Konstantin Stanislavsky and Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko's Moscow Art Theatre) and Konstantin Stanislavsky's Opera Studio (an offspring of the famous Bolshoi Theater in Moscow).
