In 1971 John Cranko realized his idea of a ballet school for the training of young dancers in Stuttgart. The school would train talented young dancers in classical dance to a professional level. Since 1999 the Stuttgart Ballet affiliated with the John Cranko School under the direction of Tadeusz Matacz and it is one of the most prestigious ballet schools in the world.
